Summer Approaches – Armstrong and Tremblay Sizzle
B2ten Welcomes Patrick Chan & Lyndon Rush

While the country may only be thinking winter sport these days, our invitees are holding up their end of the seasons.

Dylan Armstrong (Shot put) sent us this note a few weeks ago:

“Hey guys! just thought I would let you know that I won a big comp tonight in Halle Germany with a throw of 20.68m! I felt a bit tired from the trip but was very happy with my result since it is still very early in the season. I will rest up for Serbia and hope to throw farther there. This comp was very elite with the worlds best. Thanks for all the support! It is making a HUGE difference this year for me!”

And guess what? Dylan won the next week in Serbia!

In Asia, Kathy Tremblay (Triathlon) delivered fine results at the first two World Cup events. In Japan Kathy delivered a Silver medal for her first World Cup podium. In Korea, with a field as strong as it gets…Kathy finished 4th just a few seconds off the podium! Nothing comes easily and Kathy has worked hard on the off season under the watchful eye of Paulo Saldahna who also supervises the physiological side of many B2ten invitees.

Selecting additional invitees has been a challenge given the demand, however, we are pleased to announce that invitations have been extended to Patrick Chan and Lyndon Rush.

As most of you know, Patrick Chan took the figure skating world by surprise this winter. B2ten provided support in preparation for the World Championships to work with the best spin coach in the world. Now part of B2ten, Patrick will be in a position to add expertise and resources not previously available. Many thanks to our Torontonian friends for having decided to back this delightful young man.

Lyndon Rush is currently Canada’s #2 ranked bobsleigh pilot behind the legendary Pierre Leuders who is expected to retire after the coming season. Lyndon, along with brakeman Lacelles “King” Brown and Chris Lebihan always push fast however have been hampered by a circa 1992 sled. Despite this, Lyndon and King finished 4th at the 2 man World Cup event on the Whistler Olympic track this past February. Through the relationship established with Monaco with Helen Upperton, B2ten is in position to acquire an up to date sled that will put Lyndon on a level playing field with the European teams. B2ten staff will be working in collaboration with Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton personnel to insure that Lyndon is in the finest shape of his life come race season.
